Opus 4.6 fast mode: 2.5x speed at 6x cost premium¶
Insight: Anthropic released a "fast mode" for Opus 4.6 delivering 2.5x speed improvement at 6x the normal price ($30/$150 per million tokens vs standard $5/$25). Accessible via /fast in Claude Code. The 1M context option adds 2x input / 1.5x output multiplier on top. Combined fast + extended context reaches $60/$225 per million tokens — the premium tier for maximum capability.
